Modern Metronome & Timekeeper

Modern Metronome turns rhythm into something you can see. With animated beat visualizations, polyrhythm training, and precision audio, it's the practice partner every musician deserves.

Whether you're a beginner learning to keep time or an advanced player tackling complex polyrhythms, Modern Metronome gives you the tools to practice smarter — not just louder.

SEE YOUR RHYTHM
• Animated pendulum swings with your tempo
• Beat dots light up on each pulse — downbeats highlighted in red
• Circular clock view on iPad shows beats around a ring
• Ocean Waves: rolling surf with lightning strikes and shooting stars on the beat
• Laser Show: a concert light show that bursts on every beat
• Desert Drive: a night highway where the road reflectors flash in time
• Go fullscreen and let the visuals carry the pulse

PRECISION TEMPO ENGINE
• Rock-solid, sample-accurate timing from 20 to 300 BPM
• Tap tempo — tap your rhythm and the BPM locks in
• 9 click sounds: classic, wood block, clave, sine, rimshot, hi-hat, digital, cowbell, and shaker
• Background audio — keeps playing when you switch apps

EVERY TIME SIGNATURE
• Common presets: 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, 7/8, 5/4, 12/8, and more
• Custom time signatures for anything unusual
• Per-beat accent control — accent, normal, soft, or silent
• Build accent patterns for any style

POLYRHYTHM TRAINER
• Layer a second rhythm over your base pulse: 3:2, 2:3, 3:4, 4:3, and 5:4
• Visual timeline shows exactly where the beats align and diverge
• Spatial audio separates the two voices across the stereo field
• The fastest way to internalize cross-rhythms

SUBDIVISION GUIDE
• Quarter, eighth, triplet, and sixteenth subdivisions
• On-screen counting labels (1-&, 1-trip-let, 1-e-&-a) show how to count
• Hear subdivision clicks alongside the main beat

RHYTHM BUILDER
• Compose a measure note by note — from quarters to sixteenths, with dotted notes, triplets, and rests
• Play it back with clicks or sustained tones: warm, flute, organ, strings, and vibraphone
• Loop the measure and watch each note light up as it sounds

SMART PRACTICE TOOLS
• Tempo ramp: automatically raise the BPM each measure toward your target
• Count-in: up to four measures of pre-roll with an on-screen countdown
• Save and reload your favorite accent patterns
• Haptic feedback on every beat
