Need an MP3 but your recording is an M4A? Mp3ly converts M4A, WAV, CAF, AIFF and AAC audio files to MP3 right on your iPhone — for voice memos, recordings and audio files that have to be MP3 for a website, a form, a car stereo or an older player.
Choose an audio file in the Files app, check its length and estimated MP3 size, and tap Convert to MP3. Listen to the result in the app, then share it or save it to Files.
• COMMON FORMATS IN — M4A (including voice memos saved to Files), WAV, CAF, AIFF and AAC. • A REAL MP3 OUT — encoded with the LAME MP3 encoder at 128 kbps. Stereo stays stereo, mono stays mono, and audio above 48 kHz is resampled to 48 kHz. • LONG RECORDINGS — files up to 3 hours are converted in small chunks, so long lectures and meetings don't run out of memory. A progress bar shows how far along it is, and you can cancel at any time. • KNOW BEFORE YOU CONVERT — see the file name, duration and estimated MP3 size first. • PLAY IT BACK — preview the finished MP3 with a play button and timer before you export it. • SHARE OR SAVE — send the MP3 by AirDrop, Mail or Messages, or save it to Files.
Honest scope: one file at a time, at a fixed 128 kbps. Files are picked in the Files app (not from the Music library), and song titles, artist names and cover art are not copied into the MP3.
