MumoStream

MumoStream is a simple, self-hosted streaming app, born in Japan, that plays the files on your home media server exactly as they are.

* Using this app requires your own self-hosted MumoStream server (distributed free on the official site; details at the bottom of this page).

■ Your files, lined up just as you placed them
Shows your server's folder structure exactly as it is. No complicated metadata setup, no library registration. Because your files appear just as you put them, even first-time users can find their way around with ease. Switch between list and grid view with a single tap.

■ Play any format, as-is
MP4 streams directly. Formats the iPhone struggles with—MKV, HEVC, VP9 and more—are automatically converted to HLS by the server and delivered to you. No need to worry about formats. Just pick what you placed. Switching between multiple subtitle and audio tracks is supported too.

■ Smooth playback you'll grasp the moment you touch it
・Background playback
・Automatic resume from where you left off
・Favorites and playback history sync automatically with the server
・Freely assign actions like seek, volume, brightness, and fast-forward to swipes and double-taps

■ The comfort of zero ads
This app has no ads whatsoever. No pre-roll ads, no banners cutting in midway. Freed from the hassle, you can focus only on what you want to watch.

■ A kid-friendly "Kids Mode"
A simple, dedicated screen with large buttons. Set a daily viewing time from 5 minutes to 6 hours; when the limit is reached, playback stops automatically. (Extending it requires a parental PIN.) Japanese can also be shown entirely in hiragana, so even young children can use it on their own.

■ Pro features that go even further
・Unlimited playback time (the free version is limited to 60 minutes per day)
・Download for offline playback (1080p / 720p / 480p / audio only)
・Cast to a TV or monitor with Chromecast
・Wireless video output to compatible devices via AirPlay

■ Pricing plans
Pro is available as a monthly or yearly (auto-renewing) subscription, or as a one-time purchase. Please check the App Store for pricing. Auto-renewing subscriptions continue until canceled, and you can cancel anytime from your App Store account settings.
