Musical Practice Timer

Your practice timer that actually listens. On-device AI-powered detection tracks only the minutes you're playing — breaks don't count. Hit your daily goal, build your streak.

Stop counting breaks. Start measuring progress.

Musical Practice Timer automatically tracks the time you actually spend playing — not the time your instrument sits silent. Put your phone on the piano, tap Start, and the app listens. When you play, the timer runs. When you stop, it pauses. It's that simple.

Powered by on-device AI

Using Google's YAMNet audio recognition model, the app detects when you're playing your instrument in real time — no internet connection required, and no audio is ever recorded or stored. Only the sound level is analyzed, entirely on your device.

Built for every instrument

Whether you play piano, guitar, violin, drums, trumpet, saxophone, flute, or cello, Musical Practice Timer has you covered. Select your instrument in Settings and the AI tunes itself to recognize it.

Honest numbers, real motivation

Practicing for 30 minutes with 10 minutes of tuning and rests shouldn't count as 30 minutes. Musical Practice Timer separates your actual playing time from your break time, so the number you see is one you've truly earned.
