My Plekkie is a property portal for South Africa, for people buying or renting a home. Search houses, apartments, townhouses, farms and commercial property, save what you like, and get straight to the agent.

No sign-up, no clutter. Save, compare and contact agents without an account, and without ads in your way.

STRAIGHT TO THE AGENT
• WhatsApp the agent in one tap, with the property already in the message
• Call the agent from the listing
• Ask the first questions in one tap: is it still available, can I view it this week, what are the levies and rates, is the seller open to offers. For rentals: when is it available from, and are pets allowed
• Request a viewing: pick a day and a time, and the request goes to the agent on WhatsApp

THE REAL COST, UPFRONT
• On every property for sale: the monthly bond repayment and the cash you need to close, with the deposit and the SARS transfer duty worked out
• Change the deposit, interest rate and term, and the numbers follow
• Prime and the transfer duty table are shown with the date they apply from
• Levies and rates join the monthly total when the agency supplies them, and are marked "not supplied yet" when it does not, so a total never quietly leaves something out
• Search by what you can afford: type a monthly budget and see what it buys

LOAD-SHEDDING READY
• Solar, inverters, backup batteries, boreholes, water tanks, gas and generators picked out of the agent's description and shown on the listing
• "Solar ready" and "no solar" do not count as solar
• Search for load-shedding ready homes: solar, inverter, battery, borehole or water tank
• Read from the agent's own words, so confirm what is included before you offer

SEARCH THE WAY YOU LOOK
• Buy, rent or commercial, with suburb suggestions as you type
• Filter by type, bedrooms, bathrooms and price, and sort by newest, price or size
• Listings you have opened are marked Viewed, and new ones since your last visit are marked New. Show only what you have not seen yet
• See results on a map, placed only where the listing gives its real position
• Swipe through full-screen photos, see the price per square metre, and share a listing with anyone
• For rentals: the deposit, when it is available, pets and furnishing, when the agency gives them
• Safety tips on every listing, and a way to report one that does not look right

PLAN A VIEWING DAY
• Pick the saved homes you want to see, a day and a start time
• The app suggests a time for each and sends each agent a viewing request on WhatsApp, one by one

SAVE AND COMPARE
• Save homes without an account. They stay on your phone
• Compare up to three properties side by side
• Recently viewed, so you can find your way back
• Sign in to your My Plekkie account and your saved homes are on the website too. Signing in adds to what you saved, it never wipes it

TOOLS AND ADVICE
• Bond, affordability, transfer costs and rental yield calculators, on the same dated rates
• Short guides: buying your first home, pricing to sell, what to check before signing a lease, and what solar and backup power add

LIGHT ON DATA, AND WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
• Choose to load photos only on Wi-Fi
• The last searches and the homes you opened stay readable when the signal drops

ENGLISH AND AFRIKAANS
Switch language in Settings. Listing descriptions appear as the agent wrote them.
