— WHAT IS A NAME DAY? —
A name day is a tradition where every name is linked to a specific day of the year, usually the feast day of the matching saint. It began centuries ago in the Christian calendar and grew into something bigger: a celebration of everyone who shares that name. In many countries it plays out like a second birthday — flowers, sweets, a cake, a phone call, or a surprise visit from family and friends.
