Die App ist eine digitale Erweiterung des Schülerlabors „Einsichten in die Nanowelt“ an der Universität Duisburg-Essen. Mithilfe von Augmented Reality wird das Verständnis für die komplexen Geräte und Versuche erleichtert. So kann man z.B. den Elektronenstrahl innerhalb eines Rasterelektronenmikroskops verfolgen und erhält so ein besseres Verständnis für die Bilderzeugung. Ähnlich verhält es sich z.B. beim Bau einer Farbstoffsolarzelle. Die Abläufe im Inneren der Zelle sind sehr kompliziert und schwer zu begreifen. Mithilfe der AR-App gelingt es diesen Prozess deutlich zu vereinfachen, da die Vorgänge auf einmal vor den Augen dreidimensional sichtbar werden. Bisherige Inhalte:Aufbau und Funktionsweise eines Rasterelektronenmikroskops und Prozesse innerhalb einer Farbstoffsolarzelle. Die Inhalte der App werden nach und nach erweitert.
Voraussetzung für die Nutzung der App ist ein Besuch im Schülerlabor oder die auf der Website zur Verfügung gestellten Materialien.
