Glossmi is an AI translator that runs entirely on your iPhone and explains every word. Translation is free, unlimited and works in airplane mode once your languages are downloaded: nothing you type is sent to any company.
Tap any word Tap a word in a translation and an index card slides up: its meaning in context, its literal sense, part of speech, 2 to 4 alternatives with a note on nuance, how formal it is, and any idiom that contains it. Swipe the card sideways to step to the next word. Word meanings are generated on the device by AI.
Translate offline - Translation uses Apple's on-device Translation. The first time you use a language pair, iOS asks to download it once; after that it works with no internet. - The source language is detected for you. - Ask Siri or use Shortcuts: "Translate with Glossmi".
Phrasebook Every translation is saved on your iPhone. Search it, star your favorites and share them. Pro adds export to CSV and PDF.
Your model, your choice Word meanings use Apple's on-device model on iPhones with Apple Intelligence. Without it, Glossmi offers the open model Qwen3 1.7B (Apache 2.0), a one-time 1.0 GB download over Wi-Fi that then runs offline.

Privacy No account and no ads. Text you type, translations, meanings and your phrasebook never leave your iPhone. The subscription screen is provided by Superwall, which sees a device identifier, paywall events and purchase status, not what you translate.

Subscription Glossmi Pro is an auto-renewing subscription: $9.99 per week, or $79.99 per year with a 3-day free trial, after which $79.99 per year is charged unless you cancel during the trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
