Description by Divya Duvvuri(from the App Store)
Our Note is one daily note that a whole family writes in. Everyone adds to the same day: a line about school, a photo from the afternoon, a question for whoever reads it next.
It is built for kids and teenagers as much as for parents. Nothing important is hidden behind a long press or a gesture you have to be shown. If a thing can be done, you can see how to do it.
TODAY Write an entry, add a photo, or record a voice note up to thirty seconds. Voice notes are transcribed on your own device, so the words are there to read without anyone having to listen. An entry is capped at 200 words and one photo, and a handful per person per day. Those limits are the point. They keep this a note rather than another group chat.
HOW WAS YOUR DAY Pick one of sixteen faces. That is a complete answer, and for a lot of kids it is the only one you will get. If there is more to say, each face opens into a few closer words: happy becomes proud, or grateful, or content. No typing and no prompt to answer.
THE JOURNAL One card per day, newest first. Today is where you write and the journal is where you look. A year of ordinary days turns out to be worth more than any of them seemed at the time.
BIRTHDAYS AND PLANS A birthday on someone's profile comes back every year on its own. Anniversaries and trips sit in the same list. Ideas for gifts, travel and things to try go in another, so the thought you have in March is somewhere you will actually look in June. Every event and idea has its own thread, and a poll settles what is for dinner.
Grown-ups can mark an event or an idea private, which keeps it off the kids' screens so a surprise stays a surprise.
PRIVACY There is no account and no sign-up. Your family's notes live in your family's own iCloud, and there is no server on our end that could hold them. What people write, including photos, voice notes and their transcripts, is end to end encrypted, so Apple cannot read it either. Nothing is collected: no analytics, no crash reporting, no third party code of any kind.
