Paradox: Screen Time Control

You meant to read a book tonight. You opened your phone to check one thing. That was ninety minutes ago.

Paradox puts a guardian between you and the apps that take the most, and gives the time you win back to something worth reading.

GUARD THE APPS THAT PULL YOU IN
Pick the apps, whole categories and websites you would rather not open, and the hours they are off limits. The wall goes up and comes down on schedule, even while Paradox is closed. Two rules come ready to use on weekdays, a block from 9 to 5 and a 45-minute daily limit, and both are yours to rewrite.

A PAUSE BEFORE YOU GIVE IN
Open a guarded app and the Paradox shield is there first. If you really do need in, you ask from inside Paradox: your guardian stands in the way, you wait out a short countdown, and you choose 2, 5 or 15 minutes. The pass closes itself when the time is up.

SOMETHING WORTH YOUR ATTENTION
Grow is a library of short lessons to read or listen to, meant to leave you a little better than they found you. On the pause screen, one tap trades the pass for a read.

YOUR NUMBERS, HONESTLY
Where today, this week and this month actually went, app by app. Put a daily limit on your apps and watch today fill up. A home screen widget keeps your guardian and today's time in sight.

GUARDIANS YOU EARN
Every day you keep a block on counts as an active day. Active days raise your level, and each level lets you pick a new guardian or a new attack on the guardian tree. Choose the background your guardian stands in front of. Earning needs an account, so nothing you earn gets lost.

PARADOX PREMIUM
Blocking, schedules, statistics and the whole library need no subscription, and there are no ads. Paradox Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, that opens the premium guardians and their attacks, and the premium backgrounds. Subscribing needs an account, because the subscription belongs to your account rather than to one phone. You see the price before you pay, and you can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.

YOUR PRIVACY
No ads, and nothing about you is sold to anyone. The per-app times in Stats are drawn by iOS inside a sandboxed extension that cannot hand them to us. We also measure how Paradox itself gets used, and the privacy policy says exactly what that means.

NO ACCOUNT NEEDED TO START
Blocking, schedules, statistics and the library all work signed out. Sign in with Apple or Google to earn guardians or to subscribe.

Paradox needs Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) permission, because it is the only way iOS lets one app hold another back. You grant it on your device, and you can withdraw it in Settings at any time.
