PhotostudioHero is the perfect tool for professional photographers to review the photos while the shoot is still underway, present them to the client and choose the best shots. It receives every photo from the camera over Wi-Fi seconds after it is taken. You check focus, expression and light during the shoot, rate with stars and make the selection together with your client – on iPad, on iPhone and on the TV via AirPlay.

Developed by professional photographer Michael Huwiler for photographers who want to run their shoots efficiently, make the selection right there with the client and save time and money.

HOW A SHOOT WORKS

1. Shoot: The camera sends every image to PhotostudioHero via FTP. The RAW file stays on the card, the JPEG is on your iPad within seconds.
2. Check: Scroll through the filmstrip, zoom down to the pixel, show crop guides and see the shooting data with a tap.
3. Select with the client: Right on the iPad, iPhone or via AirPlay, you choose the best shots together, give stars and add notes. Via AirPlay in 16:9 without distracting controls.
4. Hand off: The selection list goes to your computer as text, CSV or JSON (via AirDrop, Dropbox, email or other share options). The free companion app for Mac and Windows uses it to fetch the RAW files from the memory card and writes stars and notes straight into the files (XMP metadata). After import, Lightroom shows the ratings right away.

RECEIVE
• FTP server built into the app, with username and password
• For every camera that sends via FTP – such as many current models from Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Panasonic and OM System
• On the studio Wi-Fi, through a travel router, Personal Hotspot or the camera's own Wi-Fi – no internet needed
• Multiple shoots, each with its own folder

CHECK
• Grid in square or original format
• Filmstrip with two to ten images
• Zoom down to the pixel, even for RAW files
• Crops such as 1:1 or 4:5 and your own overlays, such as a logo
• Shooting data at a glance: shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length and lens

SELECT
• Zero to five stars and a note per image
• Filters such as “4 stars and up” – ideal for selecting in several rounds
• With a keyboard on iPad (optional): number keys rate, arrow keys browse
• The screen stays awake during the shoot and dims to save battery

HAND OFF
• Selection list as text, CSV and JSON – via email, AirDrop or Dropbox
• Export, email, print or share photos
• File names to paste into the search in Lightroom or Capture One
