PinyinView

PinyinView is a Safari Web Extension that annotates Chinese-language articles with Pinyin, bundled with an iOS app that facilitates efficient vocabulary growth through spaced out repetition and quick, customizable vocabulary quizzes.

App features include:
- Annotates simplified Chinese characters with Pinyin, and provides convenient access to English definitions with just a tap
- Create study decks to build new vocabulary, with most frequently occurring words in your reading history prioritized in search results to help you determine which words to learn
- Test English and characters, as well as Pinyin tone recall through an intuitive gesture-based system
- Curated study mode leverages spaced out repetition to help build mastery of new words
- Track your process with three levels of mastery
- Web extension adapts to your knowledge, only labelling words that have yet to be mastered
- Offers an HSK placement test to recommend words at your current language proficiency level
- Share and discover decks from other users
- Learn on many devices, with progress saved to your account

Currently, the web extension has been tested with the New York Times and BBC. Official support for more websites coming soon!
