Podcasts Export

Podcasts Export takes the episodes you have downloaded in Apple Podcasts and saves them as ordinary audio files you can use anywhere: a USB stick for the car, an older MP3 player, a phone that is not an iPhone, or simply a folder you keep.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Check the shows and episodes you want.
2. Choose the format, the file names and the folders.
3. Click Export. The app remembers the folder for next time.

KEEP ONLY WHAT IS NEW

Podcasts Export remembers what it has exported from each show. Shows with episodes released since your last export show a count, and those episodes are marked in the list. Turn on "Only episodes not exported before" and repeat exports pick up exactly what you are missing.

FILES THE WAY YOU WANT THEM

• Keep the original file, or convert to MP3 or AAC at the bit rate you choose
• Number episodes in the order they were published
• Build your own file names from the number, title, show, host and release date, with an example of the result as you type
• A folder per show, per host and show, or everything in one folder
• Write an .m3u playlist for each show, in the format older players expect
• Save each show's artwork as PNG or JPEG
• Titles and tags are carried over, so files show up properly on your device

MADE FOR REPEAT USE

• Shows with their artwork, and an episode list you can sort and search
• Check episodes with a click, a Shift-click or ⌘K, or check only the new ones
• Listen to an episode right in the app, or preview it with Quick Look
• Keep browsing while the export runs, then see what happened to each episode
• Skip files that are already at the destination, so running it again is quick
• A log lists anything that could not be exported, and why

BEFORE YOU BUY

Podcasts Export works with episodes you have already downloaded in the Podcasts app. Episodes that only stream have no file to save.

Some episodes cannot be exported at all: those delivered as streams (HLS) and those that are copy protected. The app marks them clearly instead of failing silently. If most of your library is like that, this app will not be able to help, so please check before purchasing.

The app reads your media library and never changes it. macOS asks for permission the first time you open it. Looking up missing show artwork in Apple's podcast directory is optional and stays off until you turn it on.
