Porta Angusta means "the narrow gate" (Matthew 7:14). Study Scripture with two complete Bibles inside the app: the King James Version and the Douay-Rheims (Challoner revision, all 73 books).
No developer account or tracking. Reading, searching, typed journaling and the built-in daily Gospel work offline.
THE DAILY GOSPEL • Read the Gospel of the day and the day's other reading references • Schedule up to six daily reminders at times you choose • Choose a reference, opening lines, or the full Gospel passage in your reminder • Follow the liturgical calendar or a chapter-a-day plan through the four Gospels • Optionally fetch daily reading references or show Holy See bulletin headlines
READ & LISTEN • Switch between KJV and Douay-Rheims or read them side by side • Adjust text size and use a dark theme • Listen to verses, chapters and reflections, including with the screen locked • Draw your verse of the day from your own pinned searches

OPTIONAL AI STUDY ASSISTANT Use an authorized API key from Anthropic or OpenAI to ask questions about a passage or reflection. Provider usage charges apply to that account. The assistant stays off until you configure it. • Ask Claude or GPT, compare answers, or use Republic for a multi-model discussion • Choose answer length, listen aloud and save answers with your reflections • Review the information to be sent and give consent before using a provider • Optional daily encouragement uses a summary of your reflection activity
AI answers can be inaccurate. Check Scripture and trusted sources; the assistant does not replace pastoral, medical or other professional advice. An optional connection with the separate Track Time app can receive fasting-related questions and return answers.
YOUR DATA The developer operates no data-collection server and includes no advertising or analytics. Local content stays on your device unless you choose a feature that shares it. iCloud sync, dictation, exports, public reading/news feeds and AI features may use Apple or other services. AI questions and selected context go directly to the provider you choose and are subject to its retention practices and terms.
Each subscription will automatically renew 3 days before the expiration date for
the same time period. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time before the renewal.
