Primer Institute

Primer turns screen time into learning time.

Primer is the companion app for Primer.Institute, bringing guided lessons to students. Every lesson is read aloud and reinforced with hands-on practice, so learning feels less like a worksheet and more like an adventure your child can explore at their own pace.

A patient coach, always on call
When your child gets curious or stuck, Primer's built-in coach is right there in the lesson to explain, encourage, and answer questions. It's designed to guide kids toward understanding rather than just handing over the answer. It's like having a friendly helper on every page.

Lessons that read themselves
Text is narrated with word-by-word highlighting, so kids can follow right along. Built-in phonics and "sound it out" support help your child work through new words.

Practice that keeps kids engaged
Each lesson wraps up with quick, playful practice and an exit ticket to revisit what was covered. A variety of activity types, including drag-to-connect matching and put-it-in-order, keep kids thinking, not just tapping.

Made for how kids explore
• Friendly animated characters guide the way
• Clear, distraction-free design built for little hands
• Reading, math, science and more, with diagrams, graphs, and visuals that bring ideas to life

A real dashboard for parents
Flip over to the parent side to see how learning is actually going, no hovering required:
• Progress reports and classwork summaries show what your child worked on and how it went
• A skill-by-skill view tracks where they're strong and what comes next
• Browse and search every past lesson anytime
• Preview upcoming curriculum and add new lessons built around your child's interests
• Manage each child's profile and choose which email updates you receive
A parent PIN keeps the grown-up controls out of little hands.
