Prismoid: Epic Brick Breaker

Prismoid is a brick breaker rebuilt in real perspective depth.

You hold the phone sideways and look out across a dark vitrine. The paddle sits close, at your edge of the glass. The formation stands far up-field. And the ball flies between them through actual depth - it gets smaller as it goes, and larger as it comes back at you.

Everything on the field is cast glass. The panes are transparent, they refract the starfield behind them, they split light into colour at their edges, and they shatter into slivers that catch the light on the way down. Nothing is a sprite. Nothing is a flat coloured rectangle with a number on it.

TWENTY-FOUR HAND-BUILT STAGES
Every stage was laid out by hand and each one does something the last one did not: a sea that swells under the field, a floor that freezes over in a blizzard, a black hole that swallows the ball and spits it out somewhere else, a prism that throws a spectrum across the arena.

FIVE BOSSES
A glass dragon that beats its wings and breathes cubes of fire. A kraken that throws an arm the length of the field. A crystal spider that lays eggs, and hatchlings that come down a thread. An AI core. A coral serpent. Each is built out of the same glass blocks the field is, and each comes apart the way glass comes apart.

CONTROL THAT IS ACTUALLY ONE TO ONE
Your thumb is the paddle. No stick, no acceleration curve, no smoothing, no maximum speed. Where the ball strikes the paddle decides where it goes, so aiming is a skill and not a dice roll - and the collision is solved analytically at 240 steps a second, which means the ball cannot pass through a pane at any speed, ever.

THINGS THAT FALL
Extra balls, extra lives, slow motion, and a mirror ball that lights the whole arena and makes the paddle untouchable for five seconds. Some things that fall are not gifts. You will learn which.

Original soundtrack and also classic C64 SID-tracks by Tomas Danko and Hasse Svala, two legendary SID-musicians, used with their written permission.
