Properpad: Private Notes

Properpad is a private notepad with a lock, made for everything you write down: quick notes, checklists, to-do lists, ideas, meeting notes, shopping lists, voice notes and photos. There is no account to create. Your notes save on your iPhone or iPad as you type, and they work offline.

WRITE NOTES YOUR WAY
• Rich text notes with headings, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, quotes, code blocks and links
• Bulleted and numbered lists
• Checklists that show your progress, for to-do lists, packing lists and groceries
• Add photos to a note from your camera or photo library
• Record voice notes right inside a note
• Autosave as you type, with undo and redo
• Word and character count for every note

ORGANIZE NOTES WITH FOLDERS AND TAGS
• Folders with color accents for work, personal, projects or travel
• Tags to group related notes across folders
• Pin important notes to the top
• Archive notes you want out of the way. They stay searchable.
• Deleted notes wait in the trash for 30 days, so you can restore them
• Switch between list and grid view
• Duplicate a note to reuse it as a starting point

FIND ANY NOTE FAST
Search titles, note text, checklist items and tags as you type. Start with # to look up a tag and see every note that carries it.

LOCK YOUR NOTES
• App lock with a 4-digit passcode
• Unlock with Face ID or Touch ID, with your passcode always available
• No account, no sign-in and no cloud. Your notes stay on your device.
• No ads and no advertising identifier
• Crash reports and usage statistics are optional, never include your note content, and can be turned off in Settings

BACKUP, RESTORE AND PDF EXPORT
• Back up all your notes, including photos and voice notes, to a single file you keep
• Restore a backup at any time. Restoring adds notes without overwriting the ones already there.
• Export any note as a PDF
• Share a note as text, or copy it to paste anywhere

CALM, READABLE DESIGN
• Dark mode, light mode, or follow your system setting
• A comfortable serif for your writing and a clear typeface for everything else
• Layouts for both iPhone and iPad
