Protos: Bible Study Commentary

Understand the Bible better.

The Bible can feel confusing. Protos puts the explanation, the history, and the context right next to the verse, so you finally get what you are reading.

For anyone who has read a passage and thought "wait, what does this mean?" New to the Bible, coming back to it, or years in and still hitting verses that don't add up.

WHAT MAKES PROTOS DIFFERENT
Most Bible apps give you the text and stop there. Protos explains it.

- Verse-by-verse commentary from Tyndale and JFB, scholars Christians have trusted
for over a century. Real explanations, not AI guesses.
- A built-in Bible dictionary. Tap any name, place, or word to see what it meant.
- Historical and cultural context, so the verse makes sense in its own world.
- A short guided study every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Reflect with SOAP (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer), or go deeper with Analysis: context, key insights, original-language meaning, and related verses.
- 74 plain-English guides that explain the big topics in one place. Who Jesus is, what salvation means, what the church is for, how to read the Bible well. No seminary degree required.
- 8 guided reading paths for new readers and anyone working through doubt.
- The Berean Standard Bible built in, plus KJV, ASV, WEB, NET and more to download free.
- Word study tools that make Greek and Hebrew approachable.
- Sermon Notes with one-tap verse insertion and auto-save.
- Highlights and notes that sync across your devices.
- A reading tracker that helps the habit stick.
