WHAT IT REMEMBERS, AND WHEN IT KEEPS QUIET
Reading a receipt is the easy half. Most of the work went into refusing to report a price change it cannot stand behind.
- Lines it is unsure about are marked for you rather than quietly saved.
- Every line shows a crop of the row it came from, so a correction is a glance instead of a re-read of the paper.
- Two prices measured in different units are never compared at all. A 500g pack against a per-kilo price makes a clean, credible, entirely invented "up 100%".
- Comparison is on unit price, never the line total. Buying the 2kg bag instead of the 1kg one is not a price rise.
- Price history is built from your own receipts. It is not a price comparison service and knows nothing about shops you have not shopped at.
