Reading Made Easy

Make short PDFs and screenshots easier to read on your phone. ReadME helps you understand documents, find the details that matter, and keep track of next steps.

Share a PDF directly to ReadME from another app, open a PDF from Files, or select up to ten screenshots.

Choose how you want to read:
• Standard: a quick summary of the main points.
• Simple English: an accessible explanation with everyday words.
• Detailed: a fuller summary with important facts, conditions and exceptions.

You can edit these profiles or create your own instructions.

ReadME also helps you:
• Find tasks and deadlines stated in the document.
• Review important dates with descriptions of what happens then.
• Add calendar events and reminders after reviewing them.
• Read flight times in each airport’s local time and open hotel addresses in Maps.
• Ask questions about a document and search its text for answers.
• Recognise text in scanned PDFs and screenshots.
• Open password-protected PDFs using their password.
• Read the extracted full text.

Document processing happens on your device. Your PDFs and screenshots are not uploaded to a ReadME server, and no account is required. Summaries and chat require Apple Intelligence enabled on a compatible device. Some documents may be too long or may be declined by Apple Intelligence.

ReadME is free with a small banner ad. The ad does not cover the document, and document contents are not sent to the advertising network.

For languages supported by Apple Intelligence on your device, summaries, generated labels and chat replies follow the document’s main language. Support depends on the installed model and OS version.
