Description by PABLO FERNANDEZ JIMENEZ(from the App Store)
Respira shows you the pollen you are actually allergic to, where you actually are.
THE RIGHT DATA FOR EACH COUNTRY In the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and Chile, Respira uses the Google Pollen API, updated daily wherever you are. Across Europe, from Spain and the United Kingdom to Scandinavia, the Baltics, Poland, Hungary and Greece, it uses the Copernicus CAMS model, enriched with national monitoring networks where they publish measured readings: REA in Spain, POLLnet in Italy and the DWD in Germany.
Which species you are offered depends on where you are, because the honest answer differs. Ragweed, oak and mountain cedar matter in the United States. Grass and cypress pine drive hay fever in Australia. Olive and pellitory belong to the Mediterranean. Respira never shows a level for a species its source does not report there.
TODAY, BY SPECIES Only the allergens you have selected, only where they are actually reported. A five day forecast, and a seasonal calendar for your region so you know what is coming.
AIR QUALITY ON THE RIGHT SCALE The EPA index in the United States, the European index everywhere else. An index of 49 is "Moderate" on one and "Good" on the other, so showing the wrong one would be worse than showing none at all.
A SYMPTOM DIARY THAT IS ACTUALLY USEFUL Record how you felt, which medication you took, how bad it was. Respira pairs each entry with the pollen levels for that day, so the pattern is there when you look back. Export it as a PDF report for your allergist.
WHEN WE HAVE NO DATA, WE SAY SO Pollen models have gaps. Respira shows "no reading" for those instead of a zero. "No pollen" is a measurement. "We have no data" is not. The two should never look the same on a screen you are using to decide whether to go outside.
WIDGETS AND REMINDERS Today's level on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, and reminders so you never miss your antihistamine.
RESPIRA PRO - Smart notifications: set a threshold per allergen and get told the morning it is crossed, in any of your saved places - Trip planner: check the pollen at your destination before you travel - PDF report for your allergist - No ads
