Rito Kids: Cursive Writing

Rito Kids turns the challenge of learning to handwrite into an enjoyable adventure for children.


Winner of numerous tech awards, this educational app was developed after extensive discussions and testing sessions with children, parents and teachers to create a solution perfectly adapted to the needs of the little ones.

REAL-TIME FEEDBACK
With real-time feedback, children immediately understand what they did wrong and how they can improve on their next attempt. From our discussions we have learned that children often unintentionally form incorrect writing habits and it takes a lot of effort from them, parents and teachers to relearn the correct moves. Rito Kids provides children with feedback after each exercise to facilitate correct learning from the start and eliminate the effort of relearning.


EXERCISE STRUCTURE
The app is presented in an engaging way for young schoolchildren, in the form of a map containing all the letters of the alphabet, small and capital.
Each letter is learnt through a structured series of exercises, starting with the graphic elements of the letter's composition, continuing with animations that clarify the process of writing, tracing on the outline, tracing on dots and finally free writing from a starting point.


REWARDS AND GAMES
Children are accompanied on their writing learning adventure by the cute penguin Rito. Rito is with the children every step of the way with audio encouragement, rewards and visual suggestions to improve writing. The stars earned from completed exercises can be used to personalize the penguin with different costumes and hats. To ensure a true learning experience, stars can only be earned after practice, and cannot be purchased. In addition, for each letter learned (small + capital), children are rewarded with a drawing template containing the specific letter. Children can relax by connecting the dots and colouring in the resulting drawing.


PARENTS' SPACE
Parents and teachers can check their children's progress in a dedicated section containing statistics such as: average number of exercises completed in a day, average minutes spent in the app, letters already learnt, most difficult letter and most beautiful letter.

Every day, the app is available for free for 10 minutes. For full access you need to purchase a 1 month, 3 months, or an unlimited subscription.

The app is available on mobile phones and tablets.
Best results are achieved when used in conjunction with a pen or stylus to resemble as closely as possible the classic way of writing.
