WHAT IS THIS ROCK — AND IS IT WORTH ANYTHING?
Photograph a rock and get three answers: what it is, what it's worth, and how it formed. All three, every time.
MOST ROCKS ARE WORTH NOTHING
We say so. If your find has no resale market, you get told plainly — and then you get the part that is actually interesting: what it is made of, how old it is, and what the ground under you was doing when it formed.
A VALUE RANGE, WITH A REASON
Not a number pulled out of the air. Every appraisal shows what drove it — comparable sales, grade, size, condition — and what the photo could not establish. Estimates, not offers: we don't buy rocks, and we take no cut if you sell.
WHEN A PHOTO IS NOT ENOUGH, WE SAY SO
A photo can't measure hardness, streak, or density. When two minerals look identical in a picture, you get both candidates and a 30-second test you can run at home with a coin, a key and a bottle. The tests work with no signal.
FAKE OR REAL, BEFORE YOU PAY
Tell us what the seller called it. We check that claim against what the picture actually shows, and name the one test that would settle it.
YOUR COLLECTION STAYS YOURS
Every rock you scan is kept with its appraisal and its geology. Sort by value, by date, or by what it is. Your collection lives on your phone; asking for an appraisal sends that one photo to be read, and we don't store it.
A FIELD GUIDE THAT WORKS OFFLINE
Written mineral cards — how each one formed, what separates a good specimen from an ordinary one, and where you would realistically find it.
