No reading or typing needed. While a card speaks, it shows up large. A few cards make a phrase, like “I want to drink juice,” and the app says it as one sentence. More than 400 ready-made talking cards come in 17 categories. Keep the words your child needs most on the “Quick cards” panel and favorite cards in the “Favorites” tab.
Your own cards, with photo and voice
Take a photo of a toy, a cup or grandma, or pick one from the gallery, type the word and record it in your own voice. Without a recording, the device voice reads the word. So the talking cards show your child’s own world.
Visual schedule
The day or a single routine as picture steps, split into morning, afternoon and evening. Show one step, the current and the next one (“First → Then”) or the whole plan. A “Wait time” step with a timer shows how long is left to wait. Ready-made schedules are included. Your child marks each step as done.
Visual choice
Like a choice board: your child sees two to four cards and points to what they want. Sets for different situations are saved by name.
Practice
12 exercises with picture cards, including “Find the card,” “Yes or no,” “Finish the phrase,” “Odd one out,” “What is missing” and “First sound.” There is no way to fail: a wrong card simply disappears and the word is said again.
• Ready-made word sets, such as “First words,” or your own practice built from your cards.
• Lesson plans: several exercises in a row, started with one button.
• Statistics for every exercise: right answers on the first try, cards your child already knows and cards still being learned, plus a practice report as a PDF.
Diary for parents
Mark the time with one tap and fill in what happened later: step by step, with ready-made options or in your own words. You can keep several diaries. The report shows how many entries were made in the chosen period and which answers you marked most often, and it comes as a PDF to take to an appointment. It is only a count of your entries: RomaTalk does not look for causes, does not assess anything and gives no advice. Everything stays on the device.
Several children
Each child gets a profile with their own cards and settings.
Parent mode
The settings are protected by a PIN. On iPhone and iPad, the app shows you step by step how to turn on Guided Access so your child stays in RomaTalk.
Offline, private, no ads
RomaTalk works fully offline. No ads, no sign-up, no account. Cards, photos, voice recordings and notes stay on your device.
21 languages, voices and dark theme
The interface and the cards come in 21 languages, including English and Spanish. Cards speak in your recorded voice or the device voice. The app has a dark theme and works on iPhone and iPad, upright or on their side.
Free and Pro
Free: all ready-made cards, all exercises, the phrase bar and the diary, plus up to 10 cards and 5 categories of your own, 1 child profile, 1 schedule, 2 choice sets, 2 trainings of your own and 2 lesson plans.
Pro removes these limits and adds card sharing and an encrypted backup to restore on a new phone. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. RomaTalk is made by one person, and you can support it on the “Support the project” page.
RomaTalk is a communication and learning tool. Parents can also keep private notes and see simple counts of what they recorded, and read general information written for parents. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, assess or treat anything.
