RSA Test

RSA Test runs the Repeated Sprint Ability test, the 6 × 40 m sprint test used for FIH umpire fitness, with two iPhones or iPads as the timing gates. Anyone can use the test; the pass targets and rules follow the FIH guidelines. No gates to buy or carry, no account, and nothing leaves your devices.

TWO PHONES, ONE LINK
Stand one device at the start gate line and one at the finish gate line, 40 m apart, on tripods looking across the line. The finish device shares its Personal Hotspot and the start device joins it. The app keeps both clocks agreed to a fraction of a millisecond for the whole session.

THE TEST, AS THE GUIDELINES DESCRIBE IT
Tap Gates set. The umpire starts when ready. The start camera fires as the first part of their body crosses its line, the finish camera fires at the other end, and the time is judged against the target for the umpire's gender and panel. A 60 second recovery countdown runs while they walk back. Six sprints, a seventh if exactly one fails, two fails is a fail. Void a sprint and re-run it if a gate misfires, or type a stopwatch time as a fallback.

EVIDENCE THE WITNESS CAN SIGN
Each gate keeps a still of the frame it fired on, with the sprint number, gate and time burned in. The finish device holds both stills for every sprint, a PDF results sheet with signature lines, and the session data, in a folder you can share with your National Association.

MEASURED ACCURACY
Two gates watching the same crossing on one line agree to about 2 ms. A calibration screen measures any fixed offset between your two devices and subtracts it from every sprint.
