Runa listens to you say a phrase and tells you exactly which word came out wrong. Not a score you can't act on — the specific word, what it sounded like instead, and where your timing drifted from the reference. In 85+ languages, including the ones no other app supports.

Every other app gives you its content. Runa lets you paste yours. The sentences from your residency exam sheet. Your colleagues' names, which you've been getting wrong for eight months. The twelve phrases you need for your first hospital shift. Paste any text and Runa splits it into practisable phrases, generates the audio, and adds the romanisation.

SEE WHAT WENT WRONG

After each attempt, your waveform sits under the reference, aligned word by word. You see not just that the third word failed but where — the rushed syllable, the swallowed ending, the pause in the wrong place. Every missed word shows what was actually heard.

FIVE MINUTES A DAY

Rounds are five to eight phrases. Spaced repetition brings a phrase back the day before you'd forget it. A missed attempt moves it one step back, never all the way to the start — one bad morning shouldn't cost you three weeks.

SOUND LAB

Runa watches which sounds you keep missing and builds drills around them. Minimal pairs for the contrasts that trip up learners of your specific language: ķ against k in Latvian, ü against u in German, tone contrasts in Thai.

WHAT THE SCORE ACTUALLY MEANS

Runa checks whether a speech recognition model, told to expect your target language, understood what you said. That means "clearly understandable", not "indistinguishable from a native speaker" — and we say so rather than pretending otherwise. It's the right bar for being understood at a counter, in a meeting, or in an exam.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT

No account, no email, no sign-in. Your decks, your recordings and your progress live on your phone and are never uploaded. Audio passes through our server only to be transcribed, and is never stored. Runa asks for two permissions: the microphone, and optionally notifications for a daily reminder.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, the unused portion of that trial is forfeited
