Tο σύνολο των λαογραφικών μουσείων στην Σάμο, είναι οκτώ. Τα μουσεία αυτά βρίσκονται στο Καρλόβασι, στα Κουμέικα, στα Μεσόγεια, στον Παγώνδα, στην Άμπελο, στους Μαυρατζαίους, στους Μυτιληνιούς και στο Πυθαγόρειο. Το κάθε μουσείο εκθέτει συλλογές και αντικείμενα που αντικατοπτρίζουν τον καθημερινό τρόπο ζωής και πολιτισμό των ανθρώπων από την αντίστοιχη κοινωνία της πόλης ή χωριού που βρίσκεται το μουσείο. Τα μουσεία αυτά έχουν φτιαχτεί και συντηρούνται με ιδιωτικές πρωτοβουλίες, είτε ανθρώπων είτε συλλόγων που δραστηριοποιούνται στο αντίστοιχο χωρίο, με εξαίρεση το μουσείο του Καρλοβάσου που ανήκει στον Δήμο Δυτικής Σάμου.
