The work nobody sees is the work that wears you out. Not the packing of the gym bag, but remembering that it needs packing. Not the appointment, but knowing it is due. That thinking almost always lands with one person, without anyone deciding it should.
With vaccination schedules and check-up reminders for the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In nine languages: English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Nederlands, Polski and Türkçe.
Other apps hand that work from one parent to the other. With shary you both hand it to the app.
WHAT IT DOES ON ITS OWN
Add your child with a name and a date of birth, and shary works out what is coming up over the next twelve months: reviews, vaccinations, official deadlines, seasonal things. You see the whole plan on day one, and you enter none of it.
In the UK that is over 90 rules, following the NHS schedule and the red book.
A FAMILY CALENDAR FOR TWO
Every appointment in one place, in a month view you both see: doctor, nursery, clubs, parents' evening. Whatever one of you adds is instantly on both phones.
Weekly routines like swimming or music lessons have their own tab. You can also show your Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar inside shary. A countdown counts the days to the holiday.
You both see who took on and finished what, so the work nobody sees becomes visible. No points and no pressure, just a quiet view of how it is spread.
WEATHER TIPS
shary checks the weather and says what the kids need: waterproofs when it rains, a hat when it is cold, sun cream on hot days. Matched to their age.
KITCHEN DISPLAY
A tablet on the wall shows everyone the day: appointments, shopping, meals, weather and a countdown to the holiday. When nobody uses it, it shows your family photos.
VOICE INPUT, FOR WHEN YOUR HANDS ARE FULL
Tap the microphone and say "milk on the shopping list" or "dentist on Friday", and shary files it in the right place.
WHAT ELSE IS IN THERE, AT NO EXTRA COST
- An emergency sheet as a PDF: allergies, doctor, contacts on one page for the babysitter
- Weekly drop-off and pick-up plan, settled once
- Meal plan, with ingredients going onto the shopping list in one tap
- Passport and ID expiry reminders
- Birthdays with the gift idea attached, so it is still there in November
FOR GRANDPARENTS TOO
Do you help your parents or grandparents? Add them as relatives: appointments, medication and GP in one place. From 60 on, shary also reminds you of the flu jab, trip hazards, a medication check and drinking enough on hot days.
NO ACCOUNT, NO EMAIL, NO PASSWORD
You never sign up. Your household is connected by an invite code, nothing else. Your data is stored encrypted, on a server in Austria. No ads, no tracking, no selling of your data.
WHY IT EXISTS
The idea came from my wife. She was the first to name what was going wrong for us. I did not understand it at first, because I thought we were splitting the work anyway. Until it dawned on me what it is really about: not the work itself, but having to remember it.
SUBSCRIPTION AND PRICES
14 days free, you are only charged after that. One subscription covers the whole household, not each device. Anyone who joins by invite pays nothing.
Two tiers: for two (up to 3 devices) and a larger household (up to 6 devices), each monthly or yearly. The App Store shows the price in your currency before you confirm.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account on confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the period. You can manage and cancel it at any time in your Apple Account settings.
If the subscription lapses, nothing is deleted. Everything stays visible and exportable, only new entries and reminders pause.
