Every year, thousands gather to take part in Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai'i to remember and honor their loved ones and be inspired to take positive action. Whether you reside in Hawai'i or on the other side of the world, our annual event has always been about connection through shared experiences. We now have an app that allows everyone to experience Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai'i directly on their personal devices. By downloading this app, you can:
TAKE PART Reserve a spot for the Many Rivers, One Ocean - Interactive Experience held from May 21 to June 5, 2021 and Shinnyo Guided Meditation held on June 5, 2021 at Shinnyo-en Hawaii.
Many Rivers, One Ocean - Interactive Experience As part of the Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai'i experience for 2021, we will be offering an interactive space of art and light. Participants will be invited to write messages of remembrances, prayers, and commitments to positive action and place them in a walk-through art installation.
Shinnyo Guided Meditation - Kindling Your Inner Light We will be offering three sessions of guided meditation at Shinnyo-en Hawaii on the afternoon of June 5th, 2021, to anyone who is interested, regardless of experience.

Your submissions through June 4, 2021, although not publicly displayed, will be placed inside the Many Rivers, One Ocean - Interactive Experience on the grounds of Shinnyo-en Hawaii from May 21 through June 5, 2021.
We will continue to take submissions throughout the year.

CONNECT 2021 marks our 23rd year of Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai'i. In any other year, we would have gathered at Ala Moana Beach, inviting thousands to dedicate their lanterns for their loved ones.
Each person who takes part, whether in-person or virtually, is part of our Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai'i 'ohana. Without being able to gather on the beach with one another, our app offers a virtual platform for people to share experiences and thoughts from taking part in the event, past and present.
Those who take part in this year's in-person experiences are invited to share comments and images with others.
Her Holiness Shinso Ito teaches that "Each of us is a shinnyo light. If one person can make a difference, imagine what would happen when we all come together." Thank you for taking part in this year's Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawai'i and sharing your light with us.
