ShotBla: Snap & Learn Words

Snap something around you and ShotBla turns it into a flashcard: the word, a translation, an example sentence and audio.
Recognition and card-making happen on your iPhone. Your photos are never uploaded, and there's no account to create.
Note: translations, example sentences and AI chat need an iPhone with Apple Intelligence (details below).

■ One photo, one flashcard
Take a photo or pick one from your library. Objects in it are cut out automatically as stickers (up to 4 at a time). Tap the one you want to learn to get the word, its translation, an example sentence and that sentence translated, with the target word in bold. Recognized the wrong thing? Pick the right word from a short list of suggestions.

■ Your photos stay on your iPhone
Object recognition uses the SigLIP 2 model built into the app. Translations and example sentences come from on-device Apple Intelligence. Photos aren't uploaded, and there's no server, no account, no analytics and no third-party SDK. Once the Apple Intelligence model has downloaded, making cards doesn't need an internet connection.

■ 16 languages, mix and match
English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish (Spain), Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Vietnamese, Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish and Turkish. Pair your language with the one you're learning however you like. The app's interface language switches instantly, no restart. Each card remembers the language pair it was made with. Translation languages depend on Apple Intelligence support on your device.

■ Practice by chatting
Chat with the on-device AI in the language you're learning, or tap a suggestion like "Fix my mistakes" or "Make a sentence" to start a question. Replies appear word by word, can be stopped mid-reply, and can be read aloud. The AI replies in your language by default; switch it to the language you're learning anytime. Chat history is off by default; turn on "Save chat history" in Settings if you'd like to keep it.

■ A deck that organizes itself
Cards are grouped by day, can be deleted in batches, and can be shared as an image. Tap the speaker next to a word or example sentence to hear it.

ABOUT APPLE INTELLIGENCE
Translations, example sentences and AI chat are generated on-device by Apple Intelligence. They need iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max or a later model that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. On other iPhones you can still take photos, make cut-out stickers, recognize objects (shown as the English word) and hear words read aloud, with no usage limits.

FREE ALLOWANCE AND SHOTBLA PRO
On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, you can make 10 complete flashcards and ask 10 chat questions for free. These are lifetime totals, not daily limits. When they run out, everything you've made stays yours; cards and chats are never locked.
ShotBla Pro removes both limits. It's available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. iPhones that don't support Apple Intelligence have no usage limits and don't show a purchase screen.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. The lifetime option is a one-time purchase and doesn't renew.
