Shutter Drag

Give your everyday footage a step-printed look. Shutter Drag adds a repeating rhythm and soft motion trails to the videos you already have. Start with a normal video, choose a look, and make it your own.

CHOOSE YOUR VIDEO
Pick one or more clips from Photos or Files, or record a new one in the app. Trim each clip to the moment you want. Portrait and landscape videos keep their original shape, and your original video stays unchanged.

FIND A LOOK
Try Dream, Step Print, or Clean as a starting point. Adjust the rhythm and the amount of motion in the look, or open the extra controls to fine-tune it. Save your settings in My Looks to use them again.

WORK THROUGH A BATCH
Use the same look across several clips or give each clip its own settings. Every clip keeps its own trim. Apply the effect to one video or process the whole batch in order.

COMPARE AND SAVE
After applying, switch between Original and Result to see the change. Edit the look or trim and apply again when you want another version. Save completed videos to Photos or use the share sheet to choose where they go.

Your current working batch and saved looks stay available between launches. Processing happens on your device, and no account is required.

COMPATIBILITY AND OUTPUT
Requires iOS 17 or later. Smooth motion interpolation requires supported hardware and iOS 26 or later; other supported devices use Source Frames processing. The result identifies the engine used.

Exports are MOV files with a maximum 1920-pixel long edge. Tap Apply to render the effect before comparing or saving it. Processing time depends on your device, footage, and settings.
