Sicilynnova è l'app ufficiale del progetto Knowledge Based Fishing. Il progetto "Knowledge Based Fishing" è un veicolo di dialogo e collaborazione attiva con pescatori e istituzioni locali.
La sostenibilità della pesca è fondamentale per preservare le risorse marine e garantire un futuro migliore per tutti. Attraverso azioni mirate alla raccolta di dati cruciali sulla pesca in Sicilia si cercherà di utilizzarli per fornire risposte concrete al settore. Obiettivo principale è utilizzare questi dati per sviluppare utili strumenti digitali (anche softwares) che creino modelli previsionali basati sulle relazioni tra i vari dati. Questi modelli permetteranno di utilizzare in modo più efficiente le risorse marine e di ridurre al minimo il bycatch, un elemento cruciale per la priorità numero 1 del piano operativo FEAMP 2014/2020, che mira alla promozione dell'uso sostenibile delle risorse biologiche marine.
