Slumberkin

Slumberkin writes a brand-new bedtime story for your child, by name, in about a minute — and then helps you find out which kind of story actually settles them.

Tell it who the hero is and where the story happens, choose a theme and how long you want it, and Slumberkin writes it for your child alone: their first name in it, their age setting the language and the length, the things they love woven in, and anything you asked to keep out left out.

Then start the tuck-in. The story is read aloud by your device's own voice, paragraph by paragraph, so a pause lands on a sentence rather than mid-word and the last few paragraphs slow down. Choose a soundscape, set a sleep timer, and put the phone down — the sound fades gently on its own and nothing cuts off in the middle of a line.

When you come out, log two numbers: how long your child took to settle, and how long you stayed. That is the part a story library cannot do. Slumberkin compares your own nights and draws the Settle Arc — tonight against this child's usual — alongside an evening-reclaimed ledger built from the bedtime you told it was normal for them. It refuses to claim a pattern before it has enough nights to count, and says how many more it needs.

Every figure is worked out on your device from the nights you logged. Nothing is streamed: the soundscapes are generated by the app itself, the reading voice is your device's own, and stories you have already saved open and play with no signal at all.

Made for parents of children roughly two to ten.
