SmartBallot is a digital platform designed for secure institutional elections, community organization, civic engagement, communication, and lawful election observation.

SmartBallot provides tertiary institutions, student organizations, communities, civic groups, and other eligible organizations with digital tools to organize, communicate, engage members, and participate in transparent and peaceful democratic processes.

Institutional Elections:

Eligible tertiary institutions, student bodies, and other authorized organizations can use SmartBallot to organize and conduct their own digital elections.

Depending on the election, users can:

* Participate in digital elections organized by their tertiary institution or organization
* View candidate profiles and election information
* Cast secure digital votes
* Receive election notifications and updates
* View results from elections conducted through SmartBallot
* Access election-related information and participation tools

SuperGroups & Communities:

SmartBallot provides technology infrastructure that allows independent organizations and communities to create and manage SuperGroups.

Users can:

* Voluntarily join SuperGroups and communities
* Connect and communicate with other members
* Participate in group discussions
* Receive announcements and important updates
* Participate in community programs and events
* Access available messaging and communication features
* Leave a SuperGroup whenever they choose using the exit button.

SuperGroups are independently managed by their respective organizations. The presence of a SuperGroup on SmartBallot does not, by itself, mean that SmartBallot owns, controls, or endorses that organization or its activities.

Civic Engagement:

SmartBallot provides digital tools that may be used for lawful civic participation, including:

* Civic and voter education
* Voluntary voter mobilization
* Community organization
* Public-interest discussions
* Community and polling-unit coordination
* Lawful election observation and incident documentation

Important Public Election Notice:

SmartBallot is an independent technology platform. It is not an electoral commission, government agency, or governmental election authority.

SmartBallot does not conduct official governmental elections, register persons to vote in governmental elections, issue voter cards or government identification, operate official governmental voting or vote-counting systems, perform official result collation, transmit official governmental election results, or declare winners of governmental elections.

In Nigeria, official voter registration, voting, collation, declaration of results, and other statutory electoral functions remain the responsibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other legally authorized electoral authorities.

Voting conducted directly through SmartBallot is intended for institutional and other authorized non-governmental elections, including elections organized by tertiary institutions and student bodies.

SmartBallot features relating to public elections are limited to lawful civic engagement, voter education, voluntary voter mobilization, community organization, communication, election observation, and related activities. These features do not replace any official electoral process or governmental election authority.
