An alarm clock that wakes you with a wave, a rainfall or a fire in the grate, so the first thing you hear in the morning isn't an emergency.

RINGS WHEN IT MATTERS

On iOS 26, snoozetaker schedules a system alarm, so a Focus or the ring/silent switch will not keep it quiet — the same way the built-in clock behaves. On earlier versions it rings through notifications instead, for five minutes rather than one polite beep.

Switch on a backup ring and an alarm nobody answers comes back a few minutes later. A gentle sound is one you can sleep through, so the safety net is there if you want it. It is off unless you ask.

SOUNDS RECORDED OUTDOORS

Rain in pine woods, a dawn chorus, gulls over a harbour, a wood stove, frogs at night, waves drawing back over a pebble beach. Most are field recordings; all are public domain, CC0 or CC-BY, and every loop is seamless, so nothing clicks or restarts.

Some are two sounds at once — rain on a fire, gulls over surf, a stream under a dawn chorus — mixed together properly rather than layered at playback, so they arrive as one sound.

Everything is included and everything works offline. There is nothing to unlock.

A GENTLER MORNING

Choose how long the alarm takes to reach full volume: off, or anything up to two minutes.

Snooze as many times as you like — that is the default. Cap it if you would rather, or have each snooze come back shorter than the last, so a lie-in has a natural end instead of quietly swallowing an hour.

Once you have snoozed, moving the phone snoozes it again, so you need not find the button in the dark.

That is one alarm, not two. One thing to switch off when you go away, and one to switch back on.

SLEEP SOUNDS TOO

The same catalogue plays you to sleep, for anything from ten minutes to an hour and a half, fading out at the end so the stopping never wakes you.

NOTHING TO SIGN UP FOR

No account, no email, no subscription. There is no snoozetaker server for your alarms to sync to: they live on your device and nowhere else. The app collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere.
