BACKGROUND
Acoustic myography (AMG) is a non-invasive technique used to measure low-frequency mechanical signals (1–200 Hz) generated by muscle activity during movement and exercise.

INTENDED USE
The SOFi system is designed to measure, visualize, and monitor muscle activity patterns in real time. It provides quantitative muscle activity metrics intended to support performance monitoring, training analysis, research, and educational use.

INTENDED USERS
The SOFi system is intended exclusively for use by trained professionals, including sports trainers, physiotherapists, clinicians, researchers, and movement specialists.
This app is not intended for use by the general public.

HOW IT WORKS
• Select muscles of interest within the app
• Apply a hydrogel patch to ensure good acoustic contact with the skin
• Place the sensor on the hydrogel and secure it with a suitable bandage
• Connect the sensor to a SOFi unit to activate a recording
• View muscle activity signals in real time on a tablet or smartphone

MEASUREMENT OUTPUTS
The SOFi system provides quantitative muscle activity parameters derived from AMG signals, including:
• S – Spatial Summation: Relative number of active muscle fibers
• O – Organization: Timing and coordination of muscle activation
• F – Frequency: Rate of muscle fiber activation
• I – Integrated Signal
These outputs are intended to support observation of muscle activity patterns and changes during physical activity.
A relative balance indicator for muscle groups is also provided to support longitudinal performance and movement analysis.
