Solar Spotter

Solar Spotter is the solar advisor for off-grid 4WDs, caravans, motorhomes, vanlifers, overlanders and boondockers — anyone who relies on portable solar. Live local conditions, precision panel alignment, and a direct read on your battery — we tell you when to charge, how to align, and what your battery's actually doing, so you get the most charge out of every hour of sun. Your setup works hard so you can relax and enjoy the outdoors.

NEW — THE NUMBERS GET REAL
Battery Bluetooth (BETA) now reads seven battery monitor families: JBD, JK, Renogy, LiTime / Redodo, Topband, E&J and Super B. Pair yours and Solar Spotter records what your setup actually harvested and drew, day by day. Can't read yours yet? The app drafts an email report for you to send us.

FREE — NO ACCOUNT NEEDED:

CHARGE SMARTER. NOT LONGER.

— KNOW WHAT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING —
• Battery Bluetooth (BETA) reads your battery's built-in monitor (BMS) directly — seven families and growing. See the charge coming in, what your fridge or other gear is drawing out, and how long until full.
• Energy History — what your rig actually did, day by day.
• Alternate Charging — tell the app about your DC-DC or generator, and charge beyond what your panels could possibly make is counted as theirs. Optional Drive Detection knows when charge comes in from a drive — and never reads your location.
• Panels Packed or Out — one tap, and every number follows reality.
• Daily Battery Tracker projects your sundown % and runs a sunrise check from your current charge and system draw.
• Estimated Output runs your real panel + battery specs against live conditions: wattage now, recharge rate, and projected daily harvest.

— CHARGE IN THE RIGHT HOURS —
• Best Charging Window (BCW) rolls through the day on live weather. Set a duration, pick a custom window, or let the app find the optimal one.
• 3-day solar outlook — the next few days' charging at your current spot.
• Hyperlocal 15-minute weather — YOUR exact spot, not a regional average.

— SET UP TO THE DEGREE —
• A real game changer for portable blanket and panel users. AR Alignment shows the exact direction and tilt with audio + haptic feedback to help lock it in. Use the overlay for a quick visual guide, or the on-panel mode for precise alignment. Or set up once for the BCW and enjoy the day.

— PLAN THE WHOLE TRIP INCLUDING SOLAR —
• Trip Planner: solar outlooks for every stop ahead — and at camp, tonight's battery figure and a HERE / ON THE ROAD / AWAY pill.
• Your own trip archives and campsite notes — future you will thank you.
• Your Gear — save your panels, batteries, camp gear and named rigs. Switch rigs in one tap.
• Back Up Your Setup — one tap, everything you built, yours to keep.

Designed for the real world. Works in the outback, at the beach, in the mountains — anywhere you set up camp. The sun, panel and battery maths all run on your phone. Live weather needs a signal — out of range, Bush Bash keeps your last reading on screen, with the time it was taken.

Our Honesty — live-weather, physics-based, real-conditions-aware outputs for your exact spot.

Your Privacy — no ads, no tracking, no analytics, no accounts. Your spot stays yours.
