SoloCook. Dinner, for one.
Cooking apps are built for families. SoloCook isn't.
No "serves 4." No meal-prep for twelve. No recipes that leave you eating the same lasagne for a week. Just dinner, for you, using what's already in your fridge.
Open the app. Tap what you've got. Get the recipes you can actually cook tonight.
THE QUIET CASE AGAINST DELIVERY
A delivery order for one costs far more than cooking the same meal yourself. SoloCook counts every meal you make as one order you didn't place, and shows the running total on Home, in your own currency. The number is hard to ignore.
WHAT'S IN THE APP
• 17,000+ recipes from 20+ cuisines: Italian, Indian, Japanese, Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Spanish, Korean, British, Greek, Vietnamese, Middle Eastern, French, Caribbean, Filipino, Turkish, American, Polish, Russian, Portuguese and more.
• Fridge-first search. Tap your ingredients, appliances and cuisines, and get a ranked list of what you can cook right now. Recipes you're one ingredient short on are flagged, so you know exactly what to pick up on the way home.
• Fridge Scan. Point the camera at the open door and SoloCook ticks what it can see, from loose veg to leftovers. You confirm the list before anything changes. The photo is read, then discarded.
• Say it instead. Tap the mic and list what you've got. Recognition runs on your phone and the audio never leaves it.
• SoloCook Originals. Thousands of single-portion recipes written for the kit you actually own: hob, oven, microwave, air fryer, Ninja, slow cooker and more.
• Cook mode. One step at a time in big type, with a timer on every step that needs one.
• Recipes that scale. Cook for one, or for two with a single tap.
• A streak counter. Cook a few days in a row and the app notices. Skip a day and it resets. It's a mirror, not a nag.
• Share cards for Stories: dishes cooked, a weekly recap, a money-saved receipt and a streak on fire.
• Bookmarks, dark mode, and a "won't eat" list so recipes with things you avoid never show up.
QUIET BY DEFAULT
Your pantry, streak and bookmarks live on your phone. No account. No sign-in. No analytics. No ads. No push notifications. Delete the app and everything goes with it.
Data leaves your phone only when you share something through the share sheet, or choose to scan your fridge. That one photo is sent to be read, then discarded. Fridge Scan stays off until you say yes to it in the app.
THE TONE
The copy doesn't chirp at you. It doesn't say "You did it!" It says "Honour system, then. Logged." If that grates, this app isn't for you.
