Solvane: Palace Chess

Palace Chess is a game of Before the Fall, chapter two of Solvane, a saga told across many games.

Earth, 2135. Twelve years before Last Light, the palace is still whole, and Ash, the sixteen-year-old heir, has one evening to spend at the chessboard. Who will he ask to play?

Real chess, with standard rules, in a 3D palace hall at sunset. Your opponent sits across the table as a presence of light.

THREE OPPONENTS
• Mara, the palace's apprentice mechanic: relaxed, cheeky and always ready for a game. Free.
• Master Orin, Ash's tutor: patient, precise and a real challenge. Free.
• King Aldren, Ash's father: the hardest of all. He remembers how you play, match after match, and changes his game to test you. King matches come in packs of five.

Each of them has something to say before, during and after the game. Every scene is in text, with calm music.

THE COURT
• Rise from Page to Grandmaster of the Court with Renown, earned by playing.
• Win caskets that open on their timers, claim the daily seal and keep your streak.
• Earn 18 feats, from your first victory to a checkmate with a knight.
• Furnish your table: boards, tables, piece sets, move hints and effects to collect.

PLAY A FRIEND
• Far away: add friends with a friend code and play them anywhere, on Apple devices or Android, with chat and quick phrases.
• In the same room: find each other on the same Wi-Fi, no internet needed.
• Mute, block, report and a word filter keep chat friendly.

MADE FOR EVERY APPLE DEVICE
• iPhone, iPad and Mac, in a window of any size. Stand iPhone Duo half open: the palace above the fold, a flat board to play on below.
• Apple TV: play from the sofa with the Siri Remote or a game controller.
• Apple Vision Pro: the board stands in your room, or take your seat at the marble table in the palace hall.
• Touch, keyboard and mouse, or a game controller.
• Three views: the palace hall in 3D, the board in focus, or a flat 2D board.
• VoiceOver reads every square of the board on iPhone and iPad.
• In English, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Hindi.

FAIR AND QUIET
• No ads and no tracking.
• Mara and Master Orin are always free, and so is everything earned at court.
• Crowns, bought separately, add the finest boards and pieces and open caskets early. They never buy wins.
• Your play history stays on your device. For king matches, only a short summary (results, openings, typical mistakes) goes to the king's server so he can adapt.
• Game Center leaderboards and achievements.

The chess engine is our own, built for the game. Pull up a chair: the king is waiting.
