SomaliPolls

As Somali citizens are yearning for the day that they will be allowed to directly elect their representatives, instead of allowing their fate to be determined by clan elders and the political elite, SomaliPolls is providing a platform for ordinary Somalis to express their views on important subject pertaining to the current and clan based governance system of the country.
SomaliPolls is an initiative to create awareness among the Somali citizens on how they can (re)gain their constitutional rights and directly vote for their representatives. SomaliPolls provides information on who is representing what constituency at the Federal level and how the parliament seats are shared amongst the four the four clans (Darod, Dir, Hawiye and Rahanweyn) and the so-called minorities.

The App offers the following features:
• Answer Multiple-Choice Survey questions
• Rate MPs
• Vote for a Presidential Candidate
• Find out from which Federal Members States the votes for a given Presidential Candidate are from.
• Find out the Ratings for a given MP in the different Federal Member States

SomaliPolls currently features All Members of the House of the People and the Presidential Candidates:

SomaliPolls is a grass root initiative dedicated to providing insights into the 2022 Somali election, also known as the selection and use this process to prepare the Somali youth for the emerging of a full fledge democracy in Somalia and highlight what role different segments of the population can play to bring about this change.
