SpeedyReader RSVP Speed Reader

Read twice as fast, remember more, and get your time back. SpeedyReader shows you one word at a time, exactly where your eye already looks, so you stop re-reading lines and start finishing what you open — articles from Safari, PDFs, ePubs, textbooks, notes, anything you can paste.

TIME SAVED, EVERY DAY

Most people read at about 250 words per minute. At 500 WPM, a 5,000-word article takes 10 minutes instead of 20, and a 300-page book takes 2½ hours instead of 5. SpeedyReader shows your WPM after every read and keeps a running total of the time you saved, so the gain is something you can see, not something you have to take on faith.

STUDY BETTER

- Import a textbook chapter or a lecture PDF and read it at a pace that keeps you focused — no skimming, no drifting.
- Scanned pages? On-device OCR turns image-only PDFs into readable text, and Magic Wand cleans up messy scans with Apple Intelligence.
- Warm-Up ramps your speed gently, SmartFlow pauses briefly at sentence ends, and the chapter picker takes you straight back to the section you need before an exam.
- Your library and reading history sync across iPhone, iPad and Mac, so the paper you started on the train is waiting on your desk.

READ ANYTHING

- Safari extension and Share Sheet: send any article from Safari, X, News, Mail or Messages straight into the reader.
- Import PDF, ePub, DOCX, ODT, RTF, TXT, Markdown, HTML and CSV.
- Paste & Read for everything else — a newsletter, a report, a chapter you copied.

WHY IT WORKS

Your eyes are the bottleneck. In normal reading they jump between fixation points and drift back over lines you have already read, and those jumps and backtracks eat into every page. RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) removes them: words appear one at a time at a fixed spot, aligned to the Optimal Recognition Point where your eye recognizes a word fastest. Your brain keeps up. It always could.

MAKE IT YOURS

- Speed from 100 to 1,000 WPM with a slider, presets and a precise stepper
- 10 ORP highlight colors, four font styles, pinch to resize the word
- Progress charts, personal records and streaks in Metrics
- Keep Window on Top on Mac, keyboard shortcuts everywhere
- Private by design: no account, no servers, everything stays on your device
