Spellbook: Magic Wand Spells

Have you ever wanted to control your home with your wand?
Well... now you can.

Spellbook turns a movement of your hand into a spell, and a spell
into your lights coming on.

---- HOW DOES IT WORK? ----

Two ways to cast:

- Trace a spell's shape anywhere on your iPhone screen.
- Or wear an Apple Watch and cast with a flick of your arm,
phone still in your pocket.

Your Watch follows the shape your arm draws in the air and matches
it to the spellbook, entirely on your wrist. Teach it your own way of
casting in a lesson and it keeps learning how you move.

---- THE SPELLS ----

Lucernas — Upward chevron — Summon the light
Obscura — Wave into a C — Banish it
Repello — Right then down — Drive it back
Subleva — U shape with a flick — The lifting charm
Scutum — Straight line up — Raise your shield
Amplora — Rightward chevron — Amplify and enlarge
Sistere — M shape — Halt all motion
Aperio — Up then circle — Unlock and open
Exanima — A jagged strike — The soul curse
Minuera — Leftward chevron — Diminish and reduce

Or make your own. Draw any shape and it becomes a spell, castable
from your iPhone or your wrist.

The names are Latin, and every one of them can be renamed, along
with your school and its houses. The spellbook is yours to write in.

---- LEARN TO CAST ----

Ten lessons take you through the book one spell at a time: see the
shape, cast it three times, then once for real. Master a spell by
casting it cleanly, earn XP and Arcana from daily challenges, and
spend it in the Wardrobe on rings, colours, titles and wands.

---- WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A SPELL LANDS? ----

You decide. Bind any spell to an action, on iPhone or Watch.

Cast the light-summoning spell and your bedroom lamp comes on. Cast
its opposite and the room goes dark. Give each spell its own sound,
from the built-in library of royalty-free sounds or your own
recording, and optional haptic feedback so it answers in your hand.

---- WHAT CAN I CONTROL? ----

- HomeKit lights: any room, any scene, any brightness or colour
- Accessories: switches, plugs, fans, TVs, locks, garage doors,
blinds and thermostats
- iPhone: media playback, torch, brightness, volume
- Shortcuts: run any shortcut
- Links: open any app or web page
- Web requests: Home Assistant, webhooks, anything with a URL
- Attunement (Apple Watch): cast, then turn your wrist to slide a
light's brightness or colour, or your iPhone's screen
- Rooms (experimental): your Watch knows which room you're in, and
light spells act there

---- CAN I FINE-TUNE IT? ----

Everyone casts differently. Adjust motion sensitivity, gesture speed,
confidence threshold and cooldown to match your style: precise and
deliberate, or fast and snappy. Settings sync to your Watch instantly.

---- DUELLING ----

Battle a friend over a direct peer-to-peer connection, no Wi-Fi
needed. Just be in range, and be quicker than they are.

---- FREE AND SPELLBOOK+ ----

Spellbook is free to use, with seven casts a day and a new lesson
every day. SpellBook+ (monthly, yearly or lifetime) lets you cast as
often as you like and adds actions, custom sounds, attunement and
duelling.

---- PRIVACY ----

Casting runs on-device. No cloud processing. No account.

---- REQUIREMENTS ----

iPhone with iOS 18.6 or later. Tracing spells on screen needs nothing
else.

For wrist casting: Apple Watch Series 4 or later, watchOS 10 or later.

Your wand awaits.
