Spellbook: Magic Wand Spells

Have you ever wanted to control your home with your wand?
Well… now you can.

Spellbook turns a movement of your hand into a spell; and a spell
into your lights coming on.

---- HOW DOES IT WORK? ----

Two ways to cast:

- Trace a spell's shape anywhere on your iPhone screen.
- Or wear an Apple Watch and cast with a flick of your arm,
phone still in your pocket.

Eight spell patterns are recognised. Their shapes are drawn out for
you in the spellbook. On Apple Watch, an enormous amount of recorded
wrist motion has been fed into a machine-learning model that runs
entirely on your wrist — accuracy is high and improving.

Subleva — U shape with a flick — The lifting charm
Scutum — Straight line up — Raise your shield

Sistere — M shape — Halt all motion
Aperio — Up then circle — Unlock and open

The names are Latin, and every one of them can be renamed. If you'd
rather say something else entirely when you summon the light, the
spellbook is yours to write in.

---- WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A SPELL LANDS? ----

You decide. Bind any spell to an action, on iPhone or Watch.

Cast the light-summoning spell and your bedroom lamp comes on. Cast
its opposite and the room goes dark. Give each spell its own sound —
your own recording, if you like — and optional haptic feedback so it
answers in your hand.

---- WHAT CAN I CONTROL? ----

- HomeKit lights — any room, any scene, any brightness
- Accessories — switches, plugs, fans, TVs
- iPhone — media playback, torch, brightness, volume
- Attunement (Apple Watch) — hold a spell and turn your wrist to
slide brightness or colour, continuously
- A cinematic reveal on iPhone as the spell lands

---- CAN I FINE-TUNE IT? ----

Everyone casts differently. Adjust onset sensitivity, gesture speed,
confidence threshold and cooldown to match your style — precise and
deliberate, or fast and snappy. Settings sync to your Watch instantly.

---- DUELLING ----

Battle a friend over a direct peer-to-peer connection — no Wi-Fi
needed. Just be in range, and be quicker than they are.

---- FREE AND UNLOCKED ----

Spellbook is free to use, with seven casts a day. Unlock it once and
cast as often as you like, plus actions, custom sounds, attunement
and duelling.

---- PRIVACY ----

Everything runs on-device. No cloud processing. No account.

---- REQUIREMENTS ----

iPhone with iOS 18.6 or later. Tracing spells on screen needs nothing
else.

For wrist casting: Apple Watch Series 4 or later, watchOS 10 or later.
