Spiral Journey

Spiral Journey draws your Apple Health sleep data as a spiral that grows one turn per night. Drag a cursor
through time and each turn colors in with that night's phases: deep, REM, light, and wake periods.

What it does?

• Reads from Apple Health: sleep stages, heart rate, HRV (SDNN), wrist temperature, daylight exposure,
steps, workouts, menstrual cycle, high HR events.
• Draws the spiral flat 2D, logarithmic 2D, or 3D with perspective. Archimedean or logarithmic growth.
• DNA tab: RealityKit 3D double helix. Compare against yesterday, the weekly average, or your best night.
With 2+ weeks of data it detects recurring patterns using DTW + agglomerative clustering and surfaces them
as motifs with auto-generated names.
• Sleep triangle: each 15-minute epoch sits between three vertices (Awake, REM, Deep). Light sleep (N2)
lands in the interior. Vertex centers are calibrated with published data from 155+ subjects (HMC +
Sleep-EDF).
• NeuroSpiral 4D torus: sleep trajectory on a Clifford torus with 16 tesseract states. CSV export.
• Trends tab: this week vs last, night-by-night breakdown, Lomb-Scargle periodogram for detecting 24-hour,
weekend, and 28-day cycles.
• Prediction: aligns your current week with similar past weeks and proposes bedtime and wake time for
tonight.
• Coach tab: day summary and a proposed sleep window based on your chronotype.
• Widgets: spiral and circadian state on the home screen.
• Apple Watch: simplified spiral and 3D torus.
• Dream journal by voice (on-device transcription) or text. With iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence available, it
summarizes patterns using local models.
• Peer comparison via Multipeer Connectivity: two nearby iPhones exchange aggregated metrics, not raw data.

What it doesn't do:

• No user accounts.
• No data sent to any server.
• No advertising.
• No in-app purchases.

All analysis runs on your iPhone. Data only leaves the device if you enable iCloud Sync (optional, across your own devices).
