Settling a table in Canada means getting the sales tax right, and the sales tax is different in every province. Split & Tax knows all thirteen.

WHY IT IS NOT ONE RATE
GST is five percent nationally. Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia charge HST instead, at three different rates between them. British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan add a provincial tax on top of GST, at seven percent in the first two and six in the third. Quebec adds QST at 9.975 percent. Alberta and all three territories charge GST alone. A single rate is wrong nearly everywhere.
