SpudScout is the complete field tool for potato growers and agronomists, combining structured crop scouting, a built‑in disease identification guide, and professional reporting in one app.
AI‑POWERED GROWER SUMMARIES
SpudScout uses on‑device AI to turn your detailed scouting data into a clear, plain‑language summary, perfect for sharing with growers who don't need every technical detail. The summary highlights key findings across diseases, insects, weeds, and field issues, with practical next steps. You review and can edit it before saving, and everything runs privately on your device. No data ever leaves your phone.
DISEASE IDENTIFICATION GUIDE
Quickly identify potato diseases in the field with SpudScout's comprehensive reference library. Browse 25+ diseases organized by category: Foliar Diseases, Tuber & Soilborne Diseases, Physiological Disorders, and diseases not found in the USA. Each entry includes:
Symptoms, disease cycle, and management recommendations
High-quality reference photos
Pathogen classification (fungus, bacterium, water mold)
Affected plant parts and spread patterns
Search by disease name or pathogen to find answers fast when it counts most.
STRUCTURED SCOUTING SESSIONS
Conduct complete field assessments that capture every aspect of crop health in one place.
DISEASE MONITORING
Track key diseases including early blight, late blight, white mold, gray mold, blackleg, aerial stem rot, verticillium wilt, and Rhizoctonia stem canker. The advanced stem canker tool lets you sample up to 5 plants, calculating accurate disease pressure across your sample.
INSECT SCOUTING
Monitor Colorado potato beetles, aphids, leafhoppers, flea beetles, wireworms, grubs, and more. Rate pressure levels quickly across fields.
AGRONOMY & CROP DEVELOPMENT
Record stand establishment, canopy development, and tuber growth in one structured assessment. Canopy and tuber growth stages follow the internationally recognised BBCH scale, with optional BBCH codes for precise staging. Add multiple tuber dig assessments per field, each with its own BBCH code, GPS location, and photos, so you can capture how development varies across a field. Track emergence, plant spacing, skips per row, canopy closure, vine vigour, stress symptoms, soil moisture, irrigation status, and soil temperature.
WEED OBSERVATIONS
Record weed species, growth stage, density, and distribution patch by patch, with overall pressure ratings across the field.
FIELD ISSUES
Log drainage problems, mechanical damage, nutrient deficiencies, and other concerns alongside biological observations.
FIELD MAPS
Attach up to six maps to every scouting session: field overview, aerial imagery, topographic, vegetation index, soil and EC, and scouting route. Take a photo of a printed map or import from your library.
BUILT FOR THE FIELD
SpudScout works fully offline. No signal is needed to record observations, capture photos, or generate reports, so patchy coverage is never a problem. Chip-based entry keeps data capture fast when you're walking rows.
REPORTS & EXPORT
Every scouting session is saved and organized in the Reports section, giving you a full seasonal record of every field visited. When it's time to share findings, export reports in three formats:
PDF Report — includes all observation data and embedded field photos
Plain Text — clean, readable summary for quick sharing
CSV Data — structured data for spreadsheet analysis
Share directly from the app via Email, AirDrop, or Messages to keep growers, agronomists, and crop advisors in the loop instantly.
SETTINGS
Set your scout name once and it will auto-fill when you start a new session. Add your company name to personalize the "Powered by" line in PDF reports. Manage your grower and field database in one place. Select the grower and field information from the database when you start a new session.
