1. Find the convoy — listen with the hydrophone (sonar) and watch the tactical map
2. Close in at periscope depth without being spotted
3. Observe the target through the periscope: bearing, range, speed and angle on the bow
4. Enter the data into the T.D.C. (Torpedo Data Computer) — it works out the gyro angle
5. Fire your torpedoes, then dive deep and evade the depth charges
