Swiss Day Trips

Swiss Day Trips finds real places you can reach by public transport in 30, 60 or 90 minutes — and tells you the exact train, the platform, and whether it is running late.

Type a station, or tap "Use my current location". The app searches 127 real Swiss destinations across all 26 cantons and shows only the ones that actually fit your time budget, each with a live connection.

PLAN THE WHOLE DAY
• Live journey times, transfers, platforms and delays from the Swiss open transport service
• Weather at the destination before you decide, with a daily outlook
• Filter by City, Lakeside, Alpine or Culture; sort by fastest, fewest changes, warmest or A–Z
• Compare up to three trips side by side
• Map view with a duration pin for every result
• Surprise me — one tap into a random trip that fits

WHEN YOU GET THERE
• What to bring, matched to the actual forecast, as a checkable packing list
• Getting around: how much of the place is paved, how many stairways are mapped, how many nearby places record step-free access
• Photo spots with calculated Golden Hour and Blue Hour windows
• Regional food guide — fondue, raclette, Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, capuns — with diet tags
• Elevation and high-altitude advice for the mountain destinations
• Alpine safety: Rega 1414, police 117, ambulance 144, fire 118 in one tap, plus the SAC T1–T6 trail scale

KEEP IT
• Favourites, personal notes, star ratings and a visited tracker
• Multi-stop itinerary planner with time slots
• Budget calculator in CHF, with a per-person split
• Departure reminders a set number of minutes before your train
• A Home Screen widget showing your next departure
• Export any trip to your calendar as .ics
• Spotlight search and Handoff for every destination

HONEST ABOUT DATA
Journey times, delays and weather are always live, never stale guesses. Accessibility figures are counted from OpenStreetMap and shown with their sample size — the app says "not enough data" rather than inventing a number.

Your notes, favourites and ratings stay on your device. Location is requested only when you tap "Use my current location" — never on launch, never in the background.

Available in English, German, French and Italian.
