Tamakn: Learn English

Tamakn is an English-learning app built for Arabic speakers from day one: the interface is Arabic, the explanations are Arabic, and every correction tells you in Arabic what went wrong and how to fix it. Short daily lessons build a steady habit and take you from memorizing words to understanding and using them.

Why Tamakn?
• An Arabic explanation for every mistake: Tamakn points out the wrong, missing or extra word, or what is off in the word order, then explains the rule in Arabic.
• Lessons written by a dedicated teaching team around the mistakes Arabic speakers actually make, with examples from everyday situations.
• Start from zero and move step by step along a clear path that always shows your level, what you have done and your next step.
• Choose American or British pronunciation for everything you hear.

The four skills in your lessons
• Reading: listen to the text, tap any sentence for its Arabic meaning, read it aloud, then answer the comprehension questions.
• Listening: hear each sentence at natural speed or slowed down, then reveal the English text and its meaning after you answer.
• Writing: put words in order, fill in sentences and write what you hear, then write your own sentences for a smart teacher that accepts any correct wording and explains in Arabic what needs fixing.
• Speaking and dialogues: listen to the whole dialogue with its translation, then pick a character and say their lines out loud; Tamakn listens to your pronunciation, never holds your accent against you, and points you to the word to practise.

Review that makes it stick
• Smart review: Tamakn brings words and sentences back just before you forget them, each time as a different kind of exercise rather than the same drill.
• My dictionary: save any word, sentence or idiom from your lessons and train it in its own review.
• Weak points: Tamakn tracks the mistakes you make most and builds a practice session around them.
• Language section: grammar and vocabulary explanations with spoken examples and practice, plus idioms with examples.
• Search everything you have downloaded: lessons, words and explanations.

Motivation every day
• XP for real learning, and a daily goal you set from 5 to 20 minutes.
• A day streak, with streak freezes you earn by keeping it up.
• Badges you earn as you progress.
• A weekly league with other learners across ten tiers, where you appear under an alias, never your name or photo.
• A daily reminder at the time you choose.

Fits your day
• Start right away with no sign-up, and create an account whenever you like to keep your progress on any device.
• Lessons you have downloaded work offline.
• Light and dark mode.

Free, with Premium for more
Tamakn is free: every lesson is free, you get a number of attempts each day that wrong answers use up and that refill at midnight, and review is always unlimited. If you run out, you can choose to watch a short ad for an extra attempt; an ad only ever plays when you ask for one.

Tamakn Premium gives you:
• Unlimited attempts, so a lesson never stops however many mistakes you make.
• Instant streak repair if your streak breaks.
• No ads at all.

Subscriptions are monthly or yearly, and a free trial may be offered. They renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and are paid for and managed through your store account.

Your privacy
• Tamakn never keeps recordings of your voice.
• Download a copy of your data or delete your account from inside the app at any time.
