TEF Canada Prep: French Test

TEF Canada Prep: French Test is an independent, unofficial study app for the French language test used in Canadian permanent residence and citizenship applications. Practise all four papers — compréhension orale, compréhension écrite, expression écrite and expression orale — at the published timings, with 2,094 original French practice items written for this app.

A purchase is required to use this app. There is no free tier and no free sample content.

WHAT YOU GET
• 702 listening questions across 134 original recordings — announcements, micro-trottoir street interviews, conversations and rephrasing. Audio is spoken on your device, so it works offline: replay, slow down and read the script after you answer.
• 677 reading questions across 84 original documents — short notices and classified ads, long articles, gap-fill texts and grammar and vocabulary in context.
• 48 expression écrite subjects — continue a news article in 80+ words, or justify your point of view in 200+ words. Live word counter and three model answers at NCLC 5, 7 and 9, with notes on what separates the levels.
• 48 expression orale tasks across both sections — obtaining information in five minutes, then arguing to persuade in ten. Real clocks, recording, playback and a full model exchange.
• 619 vocabulary and grammar cards for everyday, workplace, administrative and civic French, each with a definition and an original example.
• 37 short lessons: strategy for every section, grammar, Canadian French, writing and speaking technique, a study plan.

BUILT FOR THE ACTUAL EXAM
• Timed simulations at the published timings — 40 minutes for listening, 60 minutes for reading — with results held until the end, exactly as on test day.
• Every question carries a detailed explanation, in English and in French, plus a task-type tag and a difficulty tag.
• Spaced repetition returns your mistakes after 1, 3, 7, 16 and 35 days, not what you already know.
• Accuracy per task type and a drill on your three weakest.
• Estimated NCLC level per paper, mastery bars, trend, countdown and a study streak.
• A review hub for every question you missed and everything you bookmarked.

BILINGUAL INTERFACE
Menus and explanations in English or French, switched any time in Settings. The practice material always stays in French — the language of the examination.

PRIVACY
No account, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no data collected. Answers, written responses and voice recordings never leave your device, and Reset Progress deletes them all. Fully offline.
