Tenderly: Future Letters

Some words are worth the wait.

Tenderly lets you write letters to the people you love and seal them to be delivered on a future date — tomorrow, on their 18th birthday, on a wedding morning, or for the day they'll need them most. A time capsule for the heart.

You write it today. They read it when it matters.

WRITE TO THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE
Not a letter to your future self — a letter to your daughter, your son, your partner, your parents. Pick the moment it should arrive, seal it, and let time do the rest. The countdown begins: "16 years remaining."

THE MOMENT IT ARRIVES
One day a quiet notice appears: a letter has arrived. Your words, written years ago, opened exactly when they were meant to be read. No printing, no shipping, no waiting on the mail — the moment of arrival is the keepsake.

YOUR WORDS STAY YOURS
Sealed letters are encrypted on your device with keys only you hold, so their contents stay private to you — even from us. Tenderly is local-first — it works offline and keeps your most intimate words between you and the person you wrote them for.

DELIVERED EVEN IF YOU CANCEL
Here is our promise in plain language: for as long as Tenderly operates, every letter you've already sealed will be delivered on schedule — even if your subscription ends. Delivery happens on your device, so a letter you've scheduled arrives whether or not you still subscribe. Your subscription pays for writing new letters and family features, never to hold the letters you've already sealed. Once it's sealed, it's on its way to them.

A KEEPSAKE FOR EVERY DAY
Between the big moments, keep a private journal for the people you love — small notes, photos, and reactions you can choose to share with family. A warm, private space with no public feed and no strangers.

NEVER FACE A BLANK PAGE
Gentle prompts help you start: "Write to them for their 18th." "What do you want them to know?" The hardest part of any letter is the first line — Tenderly hands you one.
